Disum Collective Private Limited is a social business entity from Jharkhand to foster economic development through non-timber forest produce and farm produce, engaging farmers and forest produce gatherers. It is a collective venture of the people of Jharkhand, as can be interpreted by the name itself where ‘Disum’ means the state of Jharkhand as referred to by its people.

Our members are from the villages of Jharkhand which are inhabited around and inside forest covered regions. Sourcing the products from these forests is one of the two main activities of sustaining their livelihood beside farming. Until now, they have been selling their products in the local market, not needed to mention how much control they have in the price they get.

Hence, Disum Collective stepped in to market the products of our farmers to a global market. At Disum Collective Pvt. Ltd., we prioritize sustainability and community empowerment. Our focus on non-timber forest products and farm goods ensures ethical sourcing practices and environmental impact awareness in all our trading activities.

A well known social worker in Jharkhand who has been active for over thirty years, she has worked with village women to carryforward and revive the practice of traditional medicine and diet.

Roshan Horo is a social entrepreneur who has gained experience in the field of media before collaborating to design the model of the social enterprise.
